Introducing your hosts at Evanslea
Vicki & Andrew moved from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, where Andrew owned and operated a boat building business, some 5 years ago.
"We are both animal lovers, and we currently have 5 cats and 6 dogs - three Golden Retrievers and three Maltese Terriers. There are also three miniature horses, some chickens and a transient population of native animals, as we are both wildlife carers.
We have also spent a lot of time bringing our property up to its current standard, by building luxury spa cottages that fit in with
our heritage status, as well as landscaping the grounds and adding a tennis court. Another addition has seen the development of a series of ponds, which are home to swans, ducks and yabbies as well as being stocked with Silver Perch, Golden Perch (Yellow Belly) and Murray Cod.
To improve the environment on the property, we have spent a lot of time clearing willows and weeds from both sides of the river bank, and this has been complemented by a lot of new tree plantings. There is an established olive grove which allows us to produce our own olive oil, and a beautiful selection of fruit trees ensures a steady supply of home made jams and preserves for our guests."
